Born and bred in Dublin Lisa began her career as a fashion model, working extensively throughout Europe. It was while working in Spain that a love of wine was fostered. On her return and retirement from modelling Lisa decided to forge a career in the hospitality industry, managing a bar for three years and then moving into restaurant management at the famous and historical 5 Star Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.

| During Lisa’s time at the Shelbourne and while studying for a Bar and Hotel Management Diploma she rekindled her love of all things Oenological, and went on to become the Sommelier at the Shelbourne’s flagship restaurant No. 27 the Green. During this time Lisa also began to compete in sommelier competitions, first at a national level, Lisa won the Sommelier of the Year 2003 and then on to international level when Lisa represented Ireland at the Trophee Ruinart European Championships in 2004. |
In March 2004 Lisa moved to the prestigious 5 Red Star K Club Hotel Golf & Spa as Chief Sommelier. At the K Club Lisa dealt with 7 wine lists for 4 restaurants, function rooms and over 150 hospitality staff. Lisa was responsible for dealing with existing suppliers and developing new relationships within the wine industry. She also guided her apprentices and continually trained the frontline staff in wine knowledge. Lisa also won the Wine Experience Award 2006 at the Gold Star Hotel & Catering Review Awards for the wine list at the Byerley Turk Restaurant, the K Club’s fine dining restaurant and was a winner in the Best Wine List category at the Irish Hospitality Awards 2006.
According to Lisa one of the most exiting and fulfilling times she spent at the K Club was during the Ryder Cup Matches, where as Chief Sommelier, Lisa sourced and served the wine for both teams, VIP’s and even Past Presidents of the USA.
In October 2006 Lisa left the full time employment at the K Club to run her own consultancy business specialising in sommelier training and service. She counts the K Club as one of her most important clients, where she continues to be the driving force behind the cellar.
Lisa has also branched out into private dinner parties, buying for private clients and writing a monthly column for the Saturday Independent, Fine food and wine guide.
